On October 24, Zhongtong officially released a wooden bamboo structured recreational vehicle. Its debut to the global market was witnessed by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) Recreational Vehicle Branch, Shandong Provincial Travel Bureau, Liaocheng Municipal Travel Bureau, Shandong Provincial Recreational Vehicle Association, and a number of journalists from various media.
Zhongtong first wooden bamboo structured recreational vehicle
At a grand ceremony to celebrate the historical moment, Sun Qingmin, General Manager of Zhongtong, pointed out that the company’s first wooden bamboo structured recreational vehicle was jointly developed with another enterprise specialized in manufacturing camping products. Boasting a unique design and high environmental friendliness, the vehicle has made a number of breakthroughs, particularly by adopting new manufacturing technologies, and introducing new materials.
Using high performance wooden bamboo materials and straw boards, both of which have gone through high-temperature and high pressure treatment, the wooden-bamboo structured recreational vehicle has very natural colors and make people feel like living in a bamboo forest. Without generating any harmful gases, the vehicle fully meets the standards for material strengths and anti-corrosion. With such highly environmentally friendly materials, the vehicle draws inspirations from traditional houses in China, making it fully integrate with the natural environment. Its beams, tiles, windows, and doors all inspire a sense of nostalgia. Advanced technologies can be found in every detail of the vehicle, such as the pinned lock and 24/7 monitoring system. Inside the vehicle are four areas, namely kitchen area, toilet & shower area, recreational area and sleeping area. With all modern facilities, it surely makes people feel at home.
At the ceremony, Zhongtong also signed a cooperation agreement with Nanjing Yagao Company and Huisitong Company. According to the agreement, the two companies will join the efforts of Zhongtong in promoting its wooden-bamboo structured recreational vehicles in the global market. Zhongtong aims to realize an annual sales volume of 300 units of its wooden-bamboo recreational vehicles in the first year.
Zhongtong started developing recreational vehicles in 2014. By introducing state-of-art manufacturing technologies from Europe, the bus maker has rolled out a number of recreational vehicle models. Currently, it also accepts orders for tailor-made recreational vehicles.
In recent years, recreational vehicles have been catching on in the market. In Shandong province, the number of camps which are designed for receiving recreational vehicles and have finished their construction or are still under construction has exceeded 30. In its future development, Zhongtong is aiming to make its recreational vehicle business as an important part of its business, promoting the overall competitiveness of China’s recreational vehicle industry.
