According to Shandong Province on Building Green Transportation Plan, the province aims to cut its CO2 emissions by 10.1811 million tons by 2018. To achieve such a goal, it will make a total investment of 73.02 billion RMB to introduce 21 green projects. By 2018, 19,9426 units of fossil fueled vehicles will be replaced and the total number of new energy vehicles will reach 100,000 units in the province.

Before G20 Hangzhou Summit, China and the United States officially signed Paris Agreement. As the largest CO2 emitter in the world, China has once again made a responsible gesture, promising to make sure its CO2 emission reach its peak by 2030 and cut the percentage of its fossil fuel consumption to 20%.
