On November 16, BYD South Korea announced that the company has signed a sales agreement with Ezwelfare for providing 21 units seven-meter electric buses to the bus operator. After the delivery, these green buses will be put into operation at Jeju Island, a famous tourist destination. The deal is also breaking a new record in terms of its total value among the purchases of electric vehicles in the developed countries in East Asian.

Liu Xueliang, General Manager of BYD Asia-Pacific Sales Dept. points out “BYD is fully committed to popularizing electric buses in the public transport sector, which is completely in line with the goal of building a carbon-free Jeju island by 2030 by South Korean government.”
 
 
In 2014, BYD entered South Korean electric vehicle market. In March, 2015, BYD brought its new energy vehicles on display at the 2nd International Electric Vehicle Expo (IEVE) held at Jeju island. One year after, BYD 12-meter electric bus was designated as the official carrier for the 3rd IEVE. As of the end of this year, a batch of 12-meter BYD electric buses will be officially delivered to South Korea for operation.
