Foton AUV started developing school buses in 2012. In the same year, its first batch of school buses were delivered to Weifang, Shandong province for operation. In August and September, 2014, Foton AUV school buses made their way to Georgia and Algeria, marking a huge step forward for its school bus business in the international market. Since the very beginning, Foton has set much higher standards than those set by the government when developing school buses.

In just a few years, Foton AUV has become one of the leading players in China’s school bus manufacturing industry. Currently, its school bus products cover five to ten meters in length, meeting the transport requirements for kindergarten kids to senior high school students. BJ6570, its latest generation school bus, equipped with a newly developed intelligent operation system, boasts much higher safety standards, long durability, high stability and a host of travel comforts for students.

Some statistics show that China’s demand for school buses is about 400,000 units while the current number of such vehicles in operation is less than 200,000 units, showing that many school kids are still unable to enjoy a safe bus ride to and from school. “To promote the use of school buses among primary and middle schools, only relying on the governments’ efforts is far from enough”, says Yang Xiyu, Director of School Bus Business of Foton AUV. Given this, the bus maker has held a series school bus promotion activities to call for more concerted efforts from the public.
