BERJAYA China Motor Sdn Bhd (BCM), the exclusive distributor and marketer for Chinese Commercial Automotive marque Foton Motor Group (FMG) in Malaysia, has officially introduced the new Foton View C2 Window Van diesel variant here in Malaysia. The new model will complement the current Foton View C2 petrol model to offer greater flexibility and convenience for customers looking for a reliable, highly-efficient and affordable transport.
“The new View C2 diesel variant represents our latest offering to the Malaysian market and it arrives at the opportune time to complement our existing range of products available here,” says Datuk Donald Choo, BCM’s CEO. “With a proven and efficient engine along with class leading features and comfort, the new View C2 diesel as well as View C2 petrol variants are ideal vehicles to service the transport needs of our customers.”
The company explains that the new View C2 Diesel is powered by a 2.8L turbodiesel engine supported by “Japanese-engineered technology”. Paired with a five-speed manual transmission, the power plant produces a total output of 94hp @ 3,600rpm with a maximum torque of 225Nm @ 2,300rpm. The engine fitted with a Bosch high pressure common rail system, turbocharge intercooler and electronic control EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation), which is compliant with EURO 4 emission standards, will offer customers proven environmental friendly performance, reliability and as well as high-efficiency, which translates to lower operating costs.
“Similarly, the View C2 petrol variant is also equipped with a Japanese-engineered 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine, which outputs 127.4hp @ 5,000rpm with 193Nm of torque @ 3,200-4,500 rpm and also paired with a five-speed manual transmission. The double-overhead-camshaft, 16-valve engine adopts an advanced low emission air passage and combustion chamber technique with a continuously variable valve timing mechanism and optimized intake and exhaust system design. The availability of both the diesel and petrol engine variants is also set to offer greater flexibility for customers in servicing their transportation needs.
“BCM is offering the View C2 model in both high-roof window van and standard roof panel van configurations for a wide range of transport applications. Both designs are available as a 10-seat passenger window van as well as two-seat van in cargo form measuring 4,840mm in length, 1,695mm in width and riding on a 2,570mm wheelbase. The high-roofed van measures a height of 2,240mm for ample headroom with 1,980mm on offer for the standard-roof panel van.
“Since its arrival on Malaysian shores, the View C2 has struck a chord with enterprises, public agencies and individual customers. Featuring a strong, robust design as well as reputable performance, the View C2 is also equipped with class-leading technologies and refinements that provide great value, high efficiency and a fantastic driving experience.
“The View C2 comes with a modern dashboard design that offers drivers a commanding view. The model is equipped with headlights with LED indicator as well as rear reverse sensors and a CD player with USB port. The View C2 also boasts anti-lock braking system) and electronic brake-force distribution as part of its safety package. The View C2 High Roof Window Van also offers three-point safety belts across all 10 seats along with multiple air-conditioner vents for rear passengers for improved comfort and convenience.”
