In recent years, Xi’an, the provincial capital of Shaanxi province, has been making huge investments in building its public transport system which features green city buses, subways, taxis and bicycles.
In 2015, a total number of 1,100 units Higer new energy city buses were put into operation in the city, including 900 units 12-meter city buses and 200 units 6-meter mini-buses. Thanks to their fast-recharging mode, Higer new energy buses can be fully recharged in fifteen minutes. Despite the stringent operation demands, they have been operating smoothly in the city, providing greener and more comfortable travel experiences for both local citizens and tourists.
Compared with fossil-fueled vehicles, a Higer new energy bus can cut its fuel consumption by over 60%. Thanks to such a high level of energy efficiency, all Higer new energy buses each day can help their operators save fuels by 10,000-20,000 cubic meters and cut the emissions of carbon dioxide by 28.8-57.6 tons.
“All the newly added Higer city buses are equipped with advanced air-conditioning systems and have low-floor access. Moreover, they all achieve higher maneuverability, providing us more comforts”, said a bus driver surnamed Liu.
By the end of 2016, the number of bus routes in Xi’an reached 270 and the number of buses in operation in the city totaled 7,829 units. Those buses powered by natural gas, electricity and hybrid power have become the main force in the city’s public transport system.()
