On November 1, a grand ceremony was held in Xiamen to mark the handover of 20 units Golden Dragon 7-meter electric buses to their customer from Changdu, Tibet.
Located in the east of Tibet, Changdu has been making great efforts in recent years to build a sound public transport networks to meet local citizens’ rising demand and promote the local economic development.
As a part of one-on-one poverty alleviation program launched by the Chinese central government, Fujian has been paired with Tibet and has been providing enormous support to the economic development in Tibet. Upon receiving the request for helping the local government build its public transport system, Golden Dragon has been taking the lead and rolling out a package of public transport solutions for Changdu.
To better preserve the fragile environment in Tibet, Golden Dragon and Changdu Municipal Government decided to introduce electric buses to the city at the very beginning. With extreme weather conditions, electric buses must meet a host of stringent requirements.
After a thorough survey of the local operation conditions, Golden Dragon recommended its classic bus Coaster to Changdu. So far, the electricity-powered Coaster has well stood the tests in extremely cold Northeast China and North Europe.()
