Recently, Zhongtong officially released China’s first solar power self-driving bus. Equipped with in-wheel electric motor and VCU, the bus introduces a brand new layout and lighting on board.
At present, the bus is able to drive automatically on fixed routes, successfully completing such sophisticated driving tasks as automatic turning directions, barrier identification and automatic braking. It is an ideal choice for fixed transportation lines and sealed BRT routes.
One of the major highlights of the vehicle is its solar power batteries, which further help the bus increase its continuous driving distance. It is expected that the vehicle is able to generate over 2,000 kilowatt hour electricity each year, helping bus operators cut their operating costs. ()
