On May 17, the world’s first 5G-assisted bus route officially started operation in Huangpu Intelligent Public Transport Industrial Park, Guangzhou. On the first day of its operation, 10 units Ankai electric buses with 5G connection are set to usher in a new era of 5G smart transportation in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Bay Area.
According to sources, ANkai electric buses with 5G connection, are operated by Guangzhou Zhenbao Bus Co., Ltd. and are in service on Bus Route No. 333. As the world’s first 5G-assisted bus route, the line extends 7.6 kilometers and has 11 stations. Along the line, 13 5G stations have been built, providing fully coverage of 5G signals.
Currently, the line has already earned a name of “Public Transportation of the Future”, connecting major innovative hubs in Guangzhou. Soon, more 5G stations are scheduled to finish their construction, laying a solid foundation for the expansion of 5G-assisted public transportation networks.
